It is essential to consider some important applications of continuous analysis in environmental monitoring. For water pollution analysis, the exact determination of dissolved oxygen (DO) is most important in finding the biological oxygen demand (BOD) of water. Biological oxygen demand is an indicator of organic and microbiological contamination of water. Almost all monitoring is the part of the environment which study under extensive and poorly planned monitoring carries a risk of damage to the environment. This is directly fed to a recorder to give the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the air.

It helps our citizens, regulatory agencies, and researchers to investigate the quality of air and the effects of air pollution. Soil pollution monitoring involves the collection or analysis of soil sample quality, constituents, and physical status to determine its fitness for use. It helps to improve the threats and other potential risks to the soil, surrounding environments, animal health, and human health.

However, it should not be forgotten that better methods to control and abatement of environmental pollution are based upon the availability and selective methods of on-line analysis of or monitoring of environmental pollution.
